Heather blinks in surprise when she steps into the kitchen. I’m leaning against the counter, sipping fresh coffee. But holy fuck, that smile I get when she walks in is a warmth I forgot I could feel. She looks at me curiously, blushing slightly.
“What?”
“I’m just surprised?” She says softly. She’s dressed in a gauzy white tank-top style nightgown that comes down to mid-thigh. When the morning light hits her, I’m pretty sure it’s all she’s wearing, too.
I grin at her. “You’re surprised that I could figure out your ridiculous coffee machine, or that I’m still here?”
The giggle bubbles from her full lips, making me smile. “Both!” She laughs. A pink blush blooms over her cheeks, and she eyes me as I walk over to her.
“Well, whatever Italian asshole designed that deserves to be smacked,” I grumble through a smile. “As for me still being here?” My hand moves to hold her waist, and she purrs happily. “I’d have to be an idiot to walk away from a woman like you,” I growl.
Heather smiles widely at me. Her blue eyes twinkle, and she runs her tongue over her lips.
“Any man would,” I add.
Heather frowns. “Yeah, well…”
“You were married,” I grumble.
She looks up at me. “You read the tabloids now?”
I smirk. “As of this morning.” I lift and wave my phone.
Heather smiles. “Just how long have you been up?”
The answer is, since five A.M., like every day. Thanks, Marine Corp. But I simply shrug. “Just long enough to fight it out with that fucking coffee machine and read some trashy shit about you.”
She arches her eyebrows and sighs. “Well, fun read, I hope.” Her eyes look down, and I my jaw tightens. It must be such bullshit to have to read about your own life, painted negatively all the fucking time, by assholes like the tabloids.
“Not particularly.” I hand her my black coffee, and she looks up and smiles at me with those twinkling blue eyes.
“We’re sharing coffee, are we?”
“I think we might be past the fear of cooties stage,” I chuckle. Heather blushes, and in that moment, standing with bedhead and no makeup, she’s more beautiful than any of the hundreds of model shots and red-carpet photos I’ve just scroll through on Google.
“And what if I like it with cream and sugar?”
“Then I’ll get you cream and sugar,” I grin.
Heather snickers and she blushes.
“What?”
“Nothing,” she giggles. “I was half expecting a dirty pun about cream or sugar.”
“And here I was holding back to be a gentleman,” I laugh.
“Are you?”
“What?”
“A gentleman.”
My pulse throbs, and my cock begins to harden and swell in my jeans.
“Not really,” I grunt. My eyes hold hers. “Thought we covered this yesterday. Sorry.”
“I’m not,” Heather whispers.
I grunt and lean in, and she gasps as I kiss her hard. The kiss deepens as I press against her and push her back until her ass hits the kitchen counter. She moans softly and opens her lips for me, and the desire burns hot inside of me.
I keep kissing Heather as I pluck the mug from her hands.
